Table Rock

I just found out, but am sure alot of you already knew, about Table Rock. Apparently the historical society is contemplating locking the gate for vehicle access. Seems, as we have all seen, the jerks trashing it up are ruining it for us all. I had a little chat with Mike Waybright from the Idaho Historic Sites and gave him my feedback. He told me to have others give their feedback, call 334-2844 or email mike.waybright@ishs.idaho.gov. Hopefully we can keep vehicle access to climb up there, even if they fence of part of it to park it will be less of a hike from the gate. So everybody sound off.
Thanks for reading

P.S. Am trying to get anyone interested to join our group for some climbing out at Swan Falls on May 9th and 10th(we are camping overnight) would love to have more pads and camaraderie. All are welcome, so come on out bro's

Table Rock

Personally I am all for the closed gate. Might keep a bit of the riffraff out. Besides, walking 1/2 to go climb is not that big of a deal. Walking half a mile to go spray-paint some rocks and break a bunch of beer bottles is a bit more of an issue. Now if we could only get those paintballers to stop ruining another climbing area out at Swan Falls...

Thanks for the input Mike

You're right about the hike from the gate, I guess sometimes I am short on time and want to get right up there and climb. I just hope it does discourage the jerks from screwing things up. I also would love to see the paintballers removed from Swan, although I don't know if thats just a pipe dream for us or not. By the way Mike thanks for your part in developing Swan, after being introduced to it last summer it is my heaven for nearby bouldering, I love that place.
