Current Raptor Closure Information

Hello Boise Climbers,

My most recent surveys at the Black Cliffs indicated that there are nesting prairie falcons at the Dead cow cliff. This pair has recently began to incubate eggs over the last 10 days. At this time we are implementing a buffer zone that will encompass all of the climbs at the Dead Cow Cliffs crag. Closure and buffer zone signs have not yet been posted, but will be in the comming days.

Currently, this is the only access restriction at the cliffs that concerns nesting raptors, so please feel free to continue climbing at all other Black Cliffs areas.

Thank you for regarding this information and continuing to make a good name for boise climbers among our State and Federal resource managers. I will continue to post up-to date information about the current closures at the cliffs as things change.

Thank you,
Dusty Perkins
